Welcome to the Eat Your Heart Out Diet!
It has been 2 years since we originally posted this to Pinterest and we have watched it grow like wildfire, and we couldn't be happier! We love seeing your success.

Below is the information you will need to 10 pounds in one week by eating AS MUCH AS YOU WANT! The trick is eating ONLY the allowed foods, on each listed day- this works.
This is a modified version of a diet we were given by a doctor- its very healthy and very effective. The reason we like this diet is its only 7 DAYS! It is a tough week, but we PROMISE IT WORKS. You get all the nutrients you need throughout the week, just spread out in different days.

The secret of this diet is that the food eaten takes more calories to burn, than it gives the body- so you can actually eat as much as you want.

We recommend everyone read "It Starts with Food" - its an amazing book that teaches you about the food we eat and how it affects us, we have a link in our sidebar! Go click to change your life!!
We cant say enough about this book and what a game changer it is.

design by @rosecourtneyrose

We consider this Eat You Heart Out Diet- PHASE ONE! Of course its just 7 days but its not very realistic to continue this process long term. After PHASE ONE, we suggest moving onto PHASE 2- which is basically sticking to WHOLE30. It is still only eating clean, whole foods - fruits, vegetables, protein and healthy fats- but you can have any of them- any day! This is much more realistic for a long term eating plan and the weight will continue to come off, just a little slower than your jump start week with The Eat Your Heart Out cleanse.

Here are my before afters doing 2 rounds of WHOLE 30.

In a nutshell, you only eat meats, veggies, nuts and healthy oils- with minimal fruit for 30 days. We recommend everyone read It Starts With Food (link in sidebar!) before starting Whole30. This Whole30 Program also lets you 'Eat Your Heart Out' No portion control necessary when you are eating clean, folks! I will be posting Whole30 recipes on this blog! Stay and Check them out HERE.

My sister, the amazingly talented graphic designer-  created this fabulous chart for you to print if you'd like to follow the diet.

  2. Starting day 4 of this diet(milk & banana day) and I almost feel guilty eating the bananas because I have only lost ONE pound since I began. I have followed this diet to a T but have only lost one sad little pound :(
I totally feel like a failure. I am hoping by day 7 I will lose some more (even 5 would be okay, but one?) Is anyone else having this problem? This diet is a complete 160 from the diet I have been consuming so I feel like it should benefit my body better and I should be losing more weight.
If anyone else is in the same spot or can provide some advice please email me jespake@gmail.com

  4. I am currently on day 3 and it is going WAY better than day 1 & 2. Actually, I tried to give up on day 2 and ended up eating 1/2 tbl of peanut butter on a Thomas 100% whole wheat thin bagel. After that I decided to get back on track and try to finish. So far I am down a little over 3 lbs. I am 5'5" and starting weight was 139.0. This morning of day 3 I was at 135.6. I will post again with final results if I make it through.

  8. I had been wanting to do this diet, but I am breastfeeding, and I seen in your FAQ that you said you shouldn't do it while breastfeeding because you don't eat enough calories. Well finally I just decided to do it. I was eating so bad that I thought it couldn't be any worse than what I was feeding her at the time, and if I wasn't producing enough for her, I had milk frozen that I could feed her! Anyway, I never had to pull out my reserves. I still produced enough and she didn't act any different! I just thought I would share this info. I still probably wouldn't do it if I didn't have any back up milk, just in case, but my baby was perfectly fine while I did it!

    1. Amanda- thanks for posting about your experience! I'm breastfeeding as well and was planning to go ahead and try it, with the same idea that if I didn't produce enough I would give my daughter frozen milk. How successful were you?

    2. It's one thing to want to diet for yourself, but to force your baby to suffer too and put their health in danger is sickeningly selfish, you ought to be ashamed.

  9. What about dried fruit? As long as it's just the pure fruit dehydrated, it seems like it would be OK. I'm a vegetarian, so I'm going to substitute tofu & Amy's Classic American Veggie Burgers...the protein & fat grams are comparable to a chicken breasts, but slightly higher carbs. I'll keep you posted!

  10. Hi!
I'm now on day four of the diet and I am loosing my strength to carry on =S
It's the second time I have tried it: the first time, last year, I had been trying to loose weight for more than a month, only had 3kg (+/- 7pounds) to go, and only lost 1kg.
This second time I have not been dieting before, in fact I was not being very healthy at all because I had some important delivery dates and mainly focused on working (which as a student means there were plenty of sugar treats and Red Bulls going on). I am on the end of day 4 and only lost 1kg so far (6 more to get to my normal weight). The main reason of my being worried is that the last time the weight I lost was also during the first 3 days, and then due to the bananas I had constipation for the rest of the diet. I have been following the diet "religiously" and doing my regular workouts but wanted to know if I should try taking some mild laxative so that my body works normally for the rest of the days?
Sorry if it is a bit of a weird question, but I really don't know what to do, I don't feel like eating tomatoes and fowl only tomorrow if that means not loosing any more weight =S

  13. I did this diet last week and lost 10 pounds. I did not find it difficult and was not hungry at all. I am trying it again this week! It is perfect for a jumpstart for beginning a lifestyle change for sure.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Hey I just wanted to write something quick for those who are quite skeptical of losing so much in one week. My brother was a wrestler in high school and his doctor and trainers/coaches agreed that losing 1 lb a day and no more than 10lbs in a week is healthy or at the very least not risky for your health (unless you are at your healthy weight for your body or underweight--obviously). And of course if you plan to lose more than ~15 lbs you should speak to your doctor first and ask all your questions and make sure your body can handle your plan. The important thing is to understand what is a healthy weight for your height and body type and to listen to your body!

  15. I started this this morning after realizing clothes that fit me the last time the weather was warm are just a little to tight for my liking. All I've got to say so far is man, I'm still so hungry, no matter how much fruit I eat! At least it's all tasty so far.

  16. Hi! I started the diet today and I was wondering about using condiments and extra sauces during some of the other days. What are the requirements to use something off the diet? Low fat, low cal, low sugar? Please let me know! I'm trying to think of recipes I can use during some of these difficult days, thanks!

  17. This is the best diet plan I have ever found! I have always had problems at losing weight (but none at putting it on, of course) and now that I'm over 40 it's even harder. I've done this diet for two weeks and lost about 3 pounds so far - which might be disappointing for somebody, but not for me because I know my body really loves its fat!! Even if it is going a bit slower than hoped, it is steadily going down, which is actually very promising. And I made substituions, too: I can't eat meat, so decided to eat cod instead, because it is very similar to chicken or turkey as far as calories, fats, carbs, fibers and all. And I always drink lots of infusions and also coffee (no sugar nor milk added, of course). So I'm making it cosier and still effective for me :)
As a comparison: I tried one of those diets where you have to have a protein drink twice a day and then eat a meal, and I lost only 1/2 pound a week, eating nothing but vegetable soup at meals! That's how hard it is for me to lose weight, and that's why I love this plan. Thank you :))))))

When I say juice I mean 100% concentrate and water no sugar added or anything but fruit and water. I use all organic and am drinking green tea. hot water with lemon. I have lost just over 3 pounds already. It is exciting I went from 143 - to just at 139 It is so Good to see results. I am hoping to do this again next week ending the week of my wedding. :) thank you for sharing!

The best way to get a healthy and balanced diet for your self is to visit a qualified dietician. Not the dieticians who put you onto new fad diets, like high protein diets, low carb diets, blood group diets, don’t eat carbs at night diets, Atkins diet, Santa Barbara diets, ‘have this pill’ diet, ‘eat only ‘this’ one day and ‘that’ on another day’ diet, falana diet, dhamka diet etc.

I have followed this diet for abuot 4 months, taking it very easy (I always had black coffe and lots of herbal tea, I ate cod instead of chicken/turkey, and on Sundays I ate what I chose) and I have lost 30 lbs in total. I was ready to stop it at any time, if I felt weak, or sick, or whatever. I didn't: I am feeling great an I am full of energy; I am running, having yoga and aqua-cycling classes. Ihave not been able to walk all year (I had an ankle fusion) I am just now beginning to feel a change, finally :( and I hope to jump start the weight I gained last year due to no weight baring for months on end then 1/2 a month in the hospital. I am on the end of Day 2, Day 1 was horrible I was starving even though I was eating as much as I could I felt really nauseated, woke up at night so hungry and sick to my stomach, didn't eat anything sucked it up and went back to bed. Today was better I ate all day though, veggie this and veggie that mostly steaming my veggies with spray Pam butter and salt/garlic. tongith was happy I could add a potato with my sprouts/broccoli/carrots, I again am feeling a bit sick to my stomach and still a bit hungry I guess this goes with the territory? I'm dying for a cup of tea or coffee lol but I only like ti with milk sugar. Do you think I'm feeling sick due to not having sugar? I will find out what I weigh tomorrow on the 3rd day only because I have a doc appt. I'm curious. I haven't been able to lose a pound all year. and I'm way over weight. I hope this jump starts me.

  62. This is a fad diet. It is not healthy at all. You will lose lbs because it is extremely low calorie and as soon as you stop the "diet" the lbs will come right back on. Why would you put yourself through this when you can just eat healthy, natural, non-processed foods and workout regularly and lose weight. Losing weight has to be a lifestyle change...something that you can stick with forever. If you make it a "diet"....as soon as you stop the said diet, the weight will come right back on. Eat as healthy as you can, workout regularly and it's about moderation and consistency. Please don't do this ridiculous " diet."

    Five Spice (Panch Phoran)

Cumin: The Little Spice That Could :
Have you ever wondered about that mysterious spice called cumin that sits unused on your pantry shelf? Somewhere through the expanse of history, many of us have lost touch with the near miraculous flavor and healing properties of this little spice.
The use of cumin dates back to biblical times, with references found in both the Old and New Testaments. It is a popular spice in Middle Eastern and Indian cuisines, and retains a prominent place on the daily dining tables of Moroccans and some Greeks. Cumin arrived on American shores by way of Portuguese and Spanish colonists, who valued its seeds for cooking as well as for herbal remedies.
In modern clinical studies, cumin has been proven to have potent long-term beneficial effects on stress, blood pressure, memory and cognition, as well as immediate relief from digestive discomfort. In fact, in a 2009 study published by the US National Library of Medicine National Institutes in Bethesda, cumin, along with dill, caraway, coriander and fennel, was found to have more potent antioxidant effects on the body than Vitamin C.
Cumin has a smoky aroma that enhances dishes with lentils, beans, chicken and couscous. Once you familiarize yourself with the smell and taste of this unique spice, you will begin to sense it in dishes where it occurs. Cumin also mixes beautifully with certain other spices. If you’d like to experience the exquisite taste and health benefits of cumin along with other exotic spices, try one of these spice blends from usimplyseason.com.

  83. I am currently doing this diet and have been looking over the comments and FAQ's to gauge what is and is not allowed. I noticed that many people are opposed to bananas. If the point is potassium then Plantains should also work just fine. They are just a touch higher in calories, carbs and sugars, but have 150 more mg of potassium and can be cooked and eaten more like a vegetable. If you eat fewer of them, say 6, everything should balance out I would think. Another possible substitute for those that are alergic is sweet potato, which other than having half the sugar, and WAY higher vitamin A is suuuuuper nutritionally similar (like... closer than the plantain... which is just a starchy banana... it makes no sense!). The same goes for carrots and winter squash, though these have half the callories and carbs to boot but the same potassium and nutrition. Sweet potatoes and carrots have slightly higher sodium, but it is still under 2% your daily value per 100g. Most other things that are high in potassium (besides the yogurt, which is already a part of this) has lots of sugars or carbs (prunes are an example, ungodly high potassium but also high sugar, carbs, callories). Im going to try some sweet potato and plantains as a sub for a few of the bananas and see how the results go :) Ill let you know.

  85. Hi! I'm starting this diet tomorrow and I'm wondering, is it okay to switch days? I have to go out somewhere on day 4(bananas & milk) and I'd like to switch with day 6(chicken and vegetables) so that I have something to eat. Is that okay?

  105. I'm starting this tomorrow - wish me luck! As someone who doesn't have masses left to lose (about 12 pounds) I figured I'd post how I'm doing each day, just in case it helps anyone who also is close to their goal. Also, I'll feel pressured to keep at it. xD See y'all tomorrow! :P

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Day 1 done! I didn't really know it was possible to eat as much fruit as I did today xD Though I suppose it doesn't really add up to much - just a big difference from my norm! I feel great at the moment, happy, energetic, and today's been a great day! Decided not to weigh myself until the end, so who knows what happened today scale wise. But I feel great, and looking forward to tomorrow! :)

      Delete
    2. Day 2 and Day 3 also done! Day 2 was trickier for me, as neither my home or my college are exactly well stocked with vegetables. I ended up feeling significantly hungrier on this day than Day 1, though it was still easily manageable.
Day 3 was better, though, whether due to lack of willpower, or simply my body crying out for more, I ended up proper binging on fruit. I then wasn't hungry for the rest of the day, however, so it evened out I suppose. This does mean I actually had another fruit day though, rather than a fruit and vegetable day. Still, it's the beginning of Day 4 now, and I'm back to feeling great albeit a little peckish. I feel like I've lost weight though obviously I can't be certain - have to wait and see!

      Delete
    3. Day 4 done, and almost finished Day 5! Loved both these days, tbh. Day 2 was brilliant, as bananas are my favourite fruit, and I actually found quite a few good ways to eat them, that I'll be bringing back once I've finished this..But with less bananas of course! That is one thing I noticed throughout the day, that I felt a little bad about the number of bananas I ate. Nevertheless, I felt great.
Day 5 today was alright. I adore chicken and turkey, but I literally detest tomatoes. I ate a few, but couldn't really bring myself to eat anymore. I've noticed that I don't feel hungry today though (and didn't really yesterday) and I can't help the feeling of being slightly panicked about this, due to my mind automatically linking hunger with weight loss. Still, I worked out my calories for the day, and I've only eaten around 5-600 calories. Odd, perhaps? Not sure what's happening there, but hopefully it'll figure itself out. I definitely think I've lost weight so far this week - excited to see the results on Monday!

      Delete
    4. Going to be honest here - I've stopped doing this diet. It's a brilliant detox, and I do love it as well as highly recommend it to anyone overweight. Me however..To be honest, I'm not overweight. And, since I actually weighed myself this morning when I made the decision to stop this detox (and it was a decision, I didn't have a lapse of willpower) I'm now actually underweight. Which was my goal. I gots issues, I'm aware.
Anyways, so doing the first five days of this, I lost a total of 3 pounds. Which isn't much, but again, I seriously do not have much body fat that my body is okay with letting go of. I stopped this morning, because the one thing this diet did do for me, is it made me kind of appreciate my body. I don't know how, but this week I really started to almost like the way I look. Maybe 3 pounds makes a large difference to someone as short as me (5ft) I don't know. But so I decided this morning to start trying to eat healthy, and most of all - normally, something which I haven't managed in years. Plus start going to the gym and working out, which I haven't been doing. Toning up - that's what I really need to do.
Anyway I know I didn't finish, but thanks for the diet, and I guess thanks for the realisation. Feels good. :P
Plus, I'm gonna make the soup tomorrow anyways, cause I legit love that stuff.

  107. The rule of thumb is to stick to foods that have a low glycemic index. Some people who want to increase HGH production will adopt the paleo diet, while others will have a more lenient approach involving dairy products.

Some of the foods you will need to stay away from include white bread, pasta, white sugar, maple syrup, agave and honey. Put emphasis on foods that are rich in dietary fiber, essential lipids and proteins. fullest hypergh14x review

  111. To avoid the weight for being fluctuated, the combination of a healthy eating pattern and vigorous exercise is much beneficial. Cardio, resistance and strength workout with weights are the ideal exercise that should be performed for fat loss. Kettlebells, and body weight lifting can be a good substitute for the exercise aforementioned. You should continue doing your routine after losing weight for the muscles that have been transformed from fats will definitely go back to its previous nature if there is no continuous follow-ups.
